Strengthen women’s economic and managerial skills to support their access to decision-making positions within Agricultural Professional Organisations (APOs) and their role in climate resilience.
A 16-month integrated project strengthening the socio-economic empowerment of women in a rural setting in Gafsa and Kasserine. Through training, awareness-raising, institutional advocacy and participatory community theatre, the initiative acts directly on local governance, access to economic resources and adaptation to climate change.


The “Towards Equality” project is implemented in the governorates of Kasserine and Gafsa in order to contribute to the lasting socio-economic empowerment of women in a rural setting. It aims in particular to strengthen their economic autonomy, their participation in Agricultural Professional Organisations (APOs), their capacity to adapt to climate change and, in time, to contribute to shifting social norms around gender, economic inclusion and climate justice.

Raise awareness among rural communities of gender, economic inclusion and climate justice issues, in order to build collective support for sustainable agricultural development.
Selection and individual support of women in a rural setting, training sessions on three themes, followed by mentoring, networking and practical application.
Workshops with local elected officials and APOs, participatory diagnostics, an illustrated guide to farming practices led by women, community theatre and a travelling performance caravan.
Period covered: 9 September 2025 – 28 February 2026, interim narrative report.
